ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS
The Burning Bush Barber Academy does not discriminate in its employment, admission, instruction, or graduation policies on the basis of sex, age, race, color, religion, or ethnic origin. The Burning Bush Barber Academy does not recruit students who are currently attending or have been admitted to another school offering similar programs of study.
The Burning Bush Barber Academy requires that each student enroll in both of its programs—Cutting with Compassion: Faith-Based Barbering Fundamentals and Intermediate Barbering—and meet the following admissions, program, and enrollment requirements:
Admissions Requirements
-
Attend an admissions interview
-
Complete an enrollment agreement
-
Provide proof of being at least 16 years of age
-
Submit evidence of successful completion of the equivalent of 8th grade
-
Possess a sufficient understanding of the English language (read, write, and speak)
Program Requirements
-
The barbering program requires completion of one thousand two hundred fifty (1,250) clock hours in accordance with Pennsylvania state requirements.
-
The academy operates on a forty (40) hour per week schedule, consisting of eight (8) or more instructional hours per day, five (5) days per week.
-
Students are expected to maintain a minimum ninety percent (90%) attendance rate in order to remain in good standing and complete the program within the projected timeframe of approximately eight (8) months. Extended absences, early departures, or missed weeks may lengthen the completion time.
-
The program prepares students for both the theory and practical examinations required by Pennsylvania state licensing requirements for barbering.
Transfer and Withdrawal Policy
A student may transfer or withdraw from the program at any time. The school will refer to the Refund Policy to determine the full amount owed to the school by the student or the refund amount owed to the student, if applicable.
If transferring, The Burning Bush Barber Academy will forward an official academic and attendance transcript to the receiving school or apprenticeship once all financial obligations owed to The Burning Bush Barber Academy are paid in full.
Students seeking to transfer hours from another institution will be reviewed after an approved transcript is received. The Burning Bush Barber Academy reserves the right to accept all, part, or none of the transfer hours earned at the previous institution. Transferred hours are treated as both completed and attempted hours in determining the student’s pace of completion. All transfer hour requirements must be met prior to enrollment.
A $100.00 application fee will be charged for accepted transfer students. Students may be charged for an additional equipment kit on a case-by-case basis, depending on the condition and quality of their current kit. Tuition will be based on transferred hours and the academy’s hourly rate at the time of enrollment. A permanent record documenting this information is maintained in the student’s file.
Re-Entry Policy
If a student who has withdrawn chooses to re-enter, all financial obligations previously owed to The Burning Bush Barber Academy must be paid in full. Re-entering students must pay a $100.00 re-entry fee and their first monthly payment, due on the 1st of the month prior to their start date.
Re-entry students will return in the same progress status as when they left and will be responsible for completing any missed work, including assignments and tests, through self-study and test make-up days. Re-entering students are responsible for replacing any lost or damaged kit items.
If a student is terminated from the school, re-entry is permitted at the discretion of the academy. After five (5) years from the date of withdrawal or termination, a student must restart the program from the beginning.
